Safeguarding sleazy public service mangers not protecting the vulnerable and justice…

It’s impossible to safeguard all vulnerable people from all possible all risks. However it is not impossible for authorities to hold their hands-up and admit to making mistakes when they know they have. What is sleazy and failing to protect the vulnerable public and unacceptable is the recurring conduct of public senior managers who manipulate facts and events to protect their own careers and often going to great extremes to do so. This fails to hold the correct senior managers and services to account and fails to ensure the correct changes are robustly made. Everything becomes distorted when safeguarding in fact becomes safeguarding the unacceptable sleazy culture of saving their reputations rather than admit to failures. It’s perverse and ethically if not legally dubious ground and creates a deeply distasteful working culture and environment. It can only change from the top down!

To date the government inspectorates fail to take strong action and governing professional bodies fail to struck-off those individuals that bring their service and profession into disrepute. Whistleblowing becomes redundant for the bold who wish to retain professional integrity and justice for the vulnerable public and senior managers become more belligerent and bullying towards those that dare to voice.

So who is going to safeguard the vulnerable professionals trying to do their jobs under substantial pressure if the government inspectors decline to act and the local authorities cover their backs? Is the media the only sanctuary where injustice and sleazy public service managers will be exposed?

Funny thing happened in crown court to me…

A funny and humiliating thing happened to me at work in crown court the other day. I was patronised and shouted at in open court by an irate judge waving a letter about the poor grammar and daring to fax letter to him and to learn to write a decent letter. The case was very serious because it was about possible attempted murder and rape for which there had always been a guilty person held on remand; a dangerous and mentally-ill person.

The funny thing is I never wrote the letter but it was signed in my name and it was people in seniority and a legal department that did write the letter and not in court. I was not even in the building when the fax was penned and faxed! When the executive managers were told not one apologised, or had the people who penned the fax disciplined or notified the court.

While the judge was rude he was also right. The letter was appalling and effectively telling him what to do but he did not care and the fact that my information had assisted the court make a wise decision seemed to get lost.  That’s the funny thing about shooting the messenger they’re the only ones doing their job correctly…

Sacked for Safeguarding

Today, unexpectedly I was sacked and physically escorted and removed from a policy-procedure job without any reasons. It was a degrading and shocking experience especially over and done within less than two-minutes. I’m employed and respected for my diligence to the safeguarding of vulnerable people from writing policies, decades of experience to ensuring the individual public’s protection and access to justice.

The east London borough suggest ‘I could not do the job’- been there two-weeks – but refused to say why I was sacked – or terminated – as they preferred to call it; but also said ‘we do not have to give a reason to temporary staff.’ The district has a complex vulnerable population with substantially inadequate statutory responses including policies, forms and competent staff to the point I had to provide very basic form-filling and advice and show how to write legally adequate minutes of the meeting.

Over twenty-hours was spent preparing staff before the meeting. My minutes remain an accurate reflection albeit another humiliating reflection of ineffectual managers and lack-lustre interactions by professionals. The minutes were appalling, staff behaviour unprofessional in the meeting nor an accurate account documented of the meeting. I had no option but to write the minutes professionally and legal account. As an accurate account it showed how bad the response of the services to this family had been since February 2009. Unsurprisingly the family is disinclined to trust or use statutory services but my chaired meeting created a direct safeguarding action plan.

I was sacked for doing my job well, legally and with the safety of a vulnerable family central beyond the egos’ of uninspiring staff and ambivalent senior managers. My understanding is one of smears from a senior manager is ‘you know he’s a bit mad’. It is time to find a robust, uncompromising solicitor and barrister in employment law and defamation.

If this is what happens to professional experienced staff what else is covered-up and careers destroyed by insinuation and smearing? What happens to the needs of the vulnerable ignored while over-paid managers protect themselves?

I did a job well and was punished (again) for doing so! What types of people are being employed to undertake social justice and need as they appear disinclined towards compassion or effectiveness? If you don’t care why are you in health and social care?

Are we supposed to simply look away and take the money or be genuine accountable public servants? Interestingly, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) was there for two-week and made directly aware so if the Authority achieves more than one star we can assume the system is disinclined to justice for the vulnerable; especially an authority that is unable to provide accurate statistics! Will the CQC use it powers for justice or provide another veneer? Meanwhile the vulnerable stay unheard, unsafe and un-helped!!

Meantime … anyone needing a safe pair of policy-procedure hands to employ here I am!! I look forward to hearing from successful employment and defamation solicitors and barristers as this is only episode one in what will be played-out in the media public arena – until I am satisfied my name and career is no longer smeared. Who will make me safe and secure justice? Please use my link on this site.
